Frequently Asked Questions
-
Does Dr. Allen Gee have a neurology practice?
Yes, Dr. Gee runs a traditional neurology practice, Frontier Neurohealth for patients needing neurological medical care.
-
What is conciere healthcare?
Optimal NeuroHealth provides healthcare services and expertise, which may not be traditionally covered by health insurance. We provide referrals to medical clinics when deemed necessary.
-
Will my insurance cover these services?
Optimal NeuroHealth does not submit claims to health insurance. These services are aimed at prevention of future disease, rather than treatment of current disease, so many insurance plans do not cover these expenses.
-
Is genetic testing provided?
No. If you have concerns regarding your genetics, your physician can assist you in getting the appropriate genetic tests, which looks for specific gene expressions (or mutations) in a specific group of genes depending on the family history.
Unfortunately, as your physician might share, genetic testing is not helpful or recommended for many diseases (like Alzheimer’s, MS, and Parkinsons) because the disease is caused by a mixture of genetic and environmental factors.
Fortunately, by controlling our environmental factors, we can decrease the risk of disease onset. By optimizing our neurohealth, we have the ability to delay, interrupt, or prevent many neurological conditions.
-
Is molecular testing provided?
Coming soon!
Molecular testing analyzes biomarkers in your blood, which provide objective data regarding your neurohealth. These biomarkers change as your risk for disease change.
-
How is molecular testing different than routine bloodwork?
Your molecular profile will look for hundreds more biomarkers than is possible when having traditional bloodwork analyzed in most labs. Molecular testing labs are equipped with the advanced equipment and training needed to look for biometrics at a whole new level.
